BM-Publisher fully supports open-access publishing and ensures that authors retain copyright to their scholarly work while granting the publisher the rights necessary for dissemination, preservation, and indexing. This policy outlines ownership, reuse permissions, and licensing terms applicable to all BM-Publisher journals.
1. Copyright Ownership
- Authors retain the copyright of their work published in BM-Publisher journals.
- By submitting and publishing, authors grant BM-Publisher a non-exclusive, irrevocable, worldwide license to publish, distribute, and preserve the work in all formats and media.
- Ownership of copyright remains with the author(s); BM-Publisher acts as the original publisher of record.
2. Creative Commons License
- All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
- This license permits unrestricted use, distribution, reproduction, adaptation, and commercial use of the work, provided the original author(s) and source are properly cited.

3. Author Rights and Reuse
- Authors may:
- Reuse figures, tables, or excerpts in new works with proper citation.
- Deposit the final published version in repositories and personal websites.
- Share the article freely through social networks or academic platforms (ResearchGate, Academia.edu, etc.).
- Use the work for teaching, conference presentations, or derivative research.
- No additional permissions are required for reuse consistent with the CC BY license.
4. Use of Third-Party Material
- Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to reuse any third-party copyrighted material (figures, images, or data).
- Each reused item must include an acknowledgment and credit line indicating permission status.
- Material published under incompatible licenses cannot be included unless an exception is granted by the rights holder.
5. Reuse by Others
- Anyone may reuse BM-Publisher content for lawful purposes—academic, educational, or commercial—under the CC BY license terms.
- Reusers must not imply endorsement by the author(s) or BM-Publisher.
- Proper citation of the original work and DOI is required in all cases.
6. Self-Archiving and Repository Deposit
- Authors may deposit:
- Preprint versions (submitted manuscripts) at any time.
- Accepted manuscripts (after peer review) or the final published PDF immediately upon publication.
- No embargo period applies to BM-Publisher journals.
- All deposited versions must include citation details and the DOI link to the Version of Record on the BM-Publisher website.
7. Permissions and Attribution
- When reusing BM-Publisher material, users must cite:
Author(s). Article title. Journal Name. Year;Volume(Issue):Pages. doi:xxxxx - Proper acknowledgment of the publisher and the Creative Commons license must appear with the reused material.
- If third-party material is included under different terms, those terms must be respected.
8. Publisher’s Rights and Responsibilities
- BM-Publisher ensures that all published content remains permanently accessible through archiving services (CLOCKSS, LOCKSS, Portico).
- The publisher maintains metadata registration, DOI assignment, and XML indexing for all published articles.
- BM-Publisher may use article metadata and content extracts for indexing, promotion, and discovery in databases and search engines.
9. Compliance with COPE and DOAJ
- This policy adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM).
- All BM-Publisher journals transparently disclose licensing and copyright information on each article page.
- License metadata is embedded in article XML for harvesting by Crossref, DOAJ, and repository aggregators.
